Rajasthan (The Rajputana) an Introduction

Rajasthan which is also known as "The Rajputana" the “Land of Maharajas” is the largest state of India, and situated in northern India. The state covers covering an area of about 342,239 sq. km (132,139 sq mi) or 10.4 percent of the total geographical area of India. It is the largest Indian state by area and the seventh largest by pupulation. Rajasthan is located on the northwestern side of India, where it comprises most of the wide and inhospitable. Thar Desert (also known as the "Great Indian Desert") and shares a border with the Pakistani provinces of Punjab to the northwest and Sindh to the west, along the Sutlej-Indus river valley. It is bordered by five other Indian states: Punjab to the north; Haryan and Uttar Pradesh to the northeast; Madhya Pradesh to the southeast; and Gujarat to the southwest. Its geographical location is 23.3 to 30.12 North latitude and 69.30 to 78.17 East longitude, with the Tropic of Cancer passing through southernmost tip of the state.

Major features include the ruins of the Indus Valley Civilisation at Kalibangan and Balathal, The Dilwara Temples a Jain pilgrimage site at Rajasthan's only hill station, Mount Abut in trhe ancitnt Aravalli Mountain Range in eastern Rajasthan, the Keoladeo National Park of Bharatpur a World Heritage Site known for its bird life. Rajasthan is also home to three national tiger reserves, the Ranthambore National Park in Sawai Madhopur, Sariska Tiger Reserve in Alwar and Mukundara Hill Tiger Reserve in Kota.

The state was formed on 30 March 1949 when Rajputana – the name adopted by the British Raj for its dependencies in the region was merged into the Dominion of India. Its capital and largest city is Jaipur is called as Pink City. Other important cities are Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Udaipur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Nagaur. The economy of Rajasthan is the seventh largest state economy in India with ?10.20 lakh crore (US$140 billion). In gross domestic product in and a per capita GDP of ?118,000 (US$1,700). Rajasthan ranks 29th among Indian states in huan development Index.

Rajasthan is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India, for both domestic and international tourists. Rajasthan attracts tourists for its historical forts, palaces, art and culture with its slogan "Padharo Mhare Desh". Every third foreign tourist visiting India travels to Rajasthan as it is part of the Golden Triangel for tourists visiting India.

The Frots of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Chittorgarh and Kumbhal Garh, Palaces of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur, lakes of Udaipur, Rajsamand, Jai Samand and desert forts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer are among the most preferred destinations of many tourists, Indian and foreign. Tourism accounts for eight percent of the state's domestic product. Many old and neglected palaces and forts have been converted into heritage hotels. It is the most beautiful place in India with heritage of old buildings build up years ago by Maharaja's of different castes.

Itinerary

This trip is designed for the Tourists coming to Rajasthan accross India and all over world. The purpose of this trip to know and see the brave history of various Rajput Kings, Queens, Saints, Forts, Palaces, Culture of Rajasthan and other places of Tourist Interest including wild life of Rajasthan. Generally we start this trip from Jaipur the starting point of the trip can be changed and it can be from Delhi, Agra, Udaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer or any other station according to your flight arrival and train timings. The detailed trip plan is mentioned below:-

Day 1 :- (Explore Jaipur "The Pink City" - 80 Kms):-

We will pick up you from your Hotel / Airport or Railway Station and then start your trip to the World Heritage City know as Pink City and Paris of India. All of the first we will see all the three forts viz. Amber (Amer) Fort, Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort in around 4 and half hours all the three Forts can be visited. After this we will come to Jalmahal where we will stop the vehicle for taking some snapshots of you and your group.

After having the lunch on the way, we will further proceed to the main Heritage City of Jaipur which consists City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal. After visiting all the above place we will leave your for shopping in the local market. After 2 Hours shopping, we will drop you to your hotel for having rest in the night.

Day 2:- (Explore Jaipur "The Pink City" - 80 Kms):-

After having the Breakfast at hotel, we will proceed to visit the remaining places of Jaipur which includes, Albert Hall Musuem, Gattor, Birla Temple, Moti Doongri Ganesh Temple, Rani Sisodiya Garden and Patrika Gate.

After having the lunch on the way, we will further proceed to the main Heritage City of Jaipur to visit the remaining places if any which consists City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal. After visiting all the above place we will leave your for shopping in the local market.

In the afternoon you may like to visit Chokhi Dhani (the Ethnic Rajasthani Culture Resorts). After having dinner at there, we will drop you at the hotel.

Day 3:- Jaipur to Pushkar on the way visit Ajmer (6 Hours - 150 Kms) :-

After having the Breakfast at hotel, check out from the hotel and further move to Pushkar, on the way visit Ajmer- Popular for shrine of Sufi saint Shaikh Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, Digambar Jain Temple Soniji Ki Nasiyan and Nareli Jain Teerth. In the afternoon arrive to Pushkar. After check-in to the hotel and getting fresh go to Shri Brahma Ji Temple and Holy Pushkar Sarovar, if you have spare time and willing to visit you may like to visit other temples of Pushkar also. You Night Stay for the night will be arranged in Pushkar.

Day 4:- Pushkar to Udaipur via Chittorgarh on the way visit Kankroli and Nathdwara Temples (8 Hours - 325 Kms) :-

After having the Breakfast at hotel, check out from the hotel and further move to Chittorgarh to see the Fort of Chittorgarh situated on the top of the hill in Chittorgarh, a Fort which tells the brave history of Mewar state and their Maharanas viz. Rana Ratan Singh Ji & Maharani Padmini, Maharan Kumbha, Maharana Udai Singh, Maharana Pratap, Mahaana Amar Singh and Meera Bai (Saint). After visiting the fort further proceed to Kankroli and Nathdwara for Darshan of Shri Nath Ji Temple.

In the evening arrive to Udaipur hotel and after having the Dinner night Halt in Udaipur.

Day 5:- Udaipur local visit (100 Kms):-

After having the Breakfast at hotel, we will today go for the visit to Udaipur (called the Vanice of India) local Tourist Attractions including Jadgish Temple, City Palace, Lake Pichola, Lake Fateh Sagar, Lake Swaroop Sagar, Pratap Smarak, Sajjangarh Fort and in the evening visit the Shilpgram.

You may like to have the lunch on any famous restaurant of Udaipur. In the evening return to the hotel and halt for the night.

Day 6 : Udaipur to Mt. Abu via Haldighati, Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur Jain Templ (320 Kms)

After having Breakfast at hotel, check-out form the hotel and further proceed ot Haldighati the place where Maharana Prataps Solders attacked on Mughals Army leaded by Jaipur King Shri Man Singh and the place where the Chetak - Horse of Shri Maharana Pratap sacrified its life for Maharana. You may also enjoy here the light and sound show organised by a privat musuem. Further visit to Kumbhalgarh Fort (Made by Mahara Kumbha) and Ranakpur Jain Temple (The Famous Temple of Jain Pilgrimage).

In the afternoon furthe move to Mt. Abu. Night Halt will be arranged in Mt. Abu.

Day 7 : Mt. Abu local visit and Night Halt (70 Kms):-

After having Breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit the Mt. Abu A hill station with 11th century Dilwara Jain Temples. The highest peak in the Aravalli Range of Rajasthan, Guru Sikhar is just 15 km from the main town, Achalgarh, Nakki Lake, Gyan Ashram (Brahma Kumari Ashram), Sun Set Point etc. Mount abu is also good attraction for adventure lover . There is many kind of adventure activities like trekking, caving,Rock climbing , Rappelling etc

In the evening, return to the hotel and night halt.

Day 8 :- Mount Abu to Jodhpur (280 Kms):-

After having Breakfast at hotel, checkout form the hotel and further proceed to Jodhpur. In the afternoon arrive to Jodhpur, After checkin to the hotel and getting fresh, visit Jodhpur famous for architecture, blue homes giving the name "Blue City" and Mehrangarh fort, Ummaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada, Kaylana Lake and Mandore Gardens.

We will arrange your dinner out side the hotel in a famous restaurant and after dinner drop you to the hotel for night halt.

Day 9 :- Jodhpur to Jaisalmer (280 Kms):-

After having Breakfast at hotel, checkout form the hotel and seen the remaining tourist attractions of Jodhpur and further move to Jaisalmer. In the evening arrive to Jaisalmer and check-in to the hotel. After getting fresh visit Jaisalmer local market, Patuaon Ki Haveli and Nathmal Ki Haveli. We will arrange your dinner out side the hotel in a famous restaurant and after dinner drop you to the hotel for night halt.

Day 10 : Jaisalmer local visit and Sam Desert Visit (70 Kms):-

After having Breakfast, check-out from the hotel and visit Jaisalmer local Tourist Attractions including Sonar Fort (The Golden Fort), Patuon ki Haveli, Nathmal Ki Haveli, Gadisar Lake, Ludrava Jain Temples and Bara Bagh till noon. After having the lunch we will proceed to Sam Desert, on the way to Sam we will also visit the ruined village Kuldhara. On arrival to the Desert Camp you will be welcomed by the Camp Receptionist and after welcom drinks go to Camel Ride and to see the Sun Set of Desert. In the evening return back to the desert camp for camp fire and after having the dinner rest in the night in Tents.

Day 11 : Sam Jaisalmer to Bikaner (Distance 350 Kms - 05 Hours) -

After having Breakfast at Desert Camp, check-out from their and further move to Bikaner. On arrival to Bikaner, first check-in to the hotel and after getting fresh we will visit the Junagarh Fort and local Bikaner Market famous for its Namkins and Sweats. In the evening return to the hotel and after dinner rest in the same hotel.

Day 12 : Bikaner to Jaipur Railway Staion or Airport drop (Distance 330 Kms):-

After having Breakfast at hotel, checkout from the hotel and further move to Jaipur. If time permits, on the way you may like to visit Shri Salasar Ji and Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temples.

In the evening, accoridng to your timings, we will drop you to Jaipur Airport or Jaipur Railway Station with sweet memories of the trip.
