An Introduction to Mewar Region
Mewar or Mewad is a region in the south-central part of Rajasthan state of India. It includes the present-day districts of Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Rajasamand, Udaipur, Banswara, Dungarpur and Pirawa Tehsil of Jhalawar District of Rajasthan, Neemuch and Mandsaur districts of Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Gujarat. For centuries, the region was ruled by Rajputs. The princely state of Udaipur emerged as an administrative unit during the period of Mughals and British Eas India Company governance in India and remained until the end of the British Raj era.
The Mewar region lies between the Aravali Ranges to the northwest, Ajmer to the north, Gujarat and the Vagad region of Rajasthan to the south, the Malwa regoion of Madhya Pradesh State to the southeast and the Hadoti region of Rajasthan to the east. This region is famous for its bravity, so many kings (Maharanas) rulled this region. The first famous King of Mewar was Bappa Rawal 8th Century who established the Mewar State and also won the Chittorgarh from Mlechchhas. After Bappa Rawal, the other famous rulers of Mewar State were Maharana Ratan Singh, Maharana Kumbha, Maharana Udai Singh, Maharana Pratap, Manara Shakti Singh, Maharana Amar Singh.
This trip has specially been made to know the histry of the Mewar State, to Visit the major Lakes, Palaces and Forts of the Mewar Region and for darshan of famous Temples of Mewar Region.
This trip is designed for the Tourists coming to Udaipur from Rajasthan, accross India and all over the world. The purpose of this trip to know and see the brave history of various Rajput Kings, Queens, Saints of Mewar Region who may so many Forts, Palaces and sacrified their lives for their dignity and in favour of their country. This trip has been made for 4 Night and 5 Days, and generally we start this trip from Udaipur. The starting point of the trip can be changed and it can be from Chittorgarh or Mt. Abu if your train is coming to that side. As regards to reach by flight only Maharana Pratap Airport Udaipur is the nearest Airport for all Mewar Region. The detailed trip plan is mentioned below:-
Day 1:- Arrive to Udaipur and visit Udaipur (80 Kms):-
You may reach Udaipur by flight or by train or by road as Udaipur is connected from all routes with other States and Districts. On arrival our rep welcome you and after having welcome drinks we will start jorney to your hotel. Checkin to the hotel and after getting fresh we will go to visit City Palace Udaipur and Lake Pichola and Rope Way Doodh Talai.
In the evening return to the hotel and after dinner rest for the night.
Day 2:- Udaipur local visit (100 Kms):-
After having the Breakfast at hotel, we will today go for the visit to Udaipur (called the Vanice of India) local Tourist Attractions including Jadgish Temple, City Palace, Lake Pichola, Lake Fateh Sagar, Lake Swaroop Sagar, Pratap Smarak, Sajjangarh Fort and in the evening visit the Shilpgram.
You may like to have the lunch on any famous restaurant of Udaipur. In the evening return to the hotel and halt for the night.
Day 3 : Udaipur to Mt. Abu via Haldighati, Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur Jain Templ (320 Kms)
After having Breakfast at hotel, check-out form the hotel and further proceed ot Haldighati the place where Maharana Prataps Solders attacked on Mughals Army leaded by Jaipur King Shri Man Singh and the place where the Chetak - Horse of Shri Maharana Pratap sacrified its life for Maharana. You may also enjoy here the light and sound show organised by a privat musuem. Further visit to Kumbhalgarh Fort (Made by Mahara Kumbha) and Ranakpur Jain Temple (The Famous Temple of Jain Pilgrimage).
In the afternoon furthe move to Mt. Abu. Night Halt will be arranged in Mt. Abu.
Day 4 : Mt. Abu local visit and Night Halt (70 Kms):-
After having Breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit the Mt. Abu A hill station with 11th century Dilwara Jain Temples. The highest peak in the Aravalli Range of Rajasthan, Guru Sikhar is just 15 km from the main town, Achalgarh, Nakki Lake, Gyan Ashram (Brahma Kumari Ashram), Sun Set Point etc. Mount abu is also good attraction for adventure lover . There is many kind of adventure activities like trekking, caving,Rock climbing , Rappelling etc
In the evening, return to the hotel and night halt.
Day 5 :- Mount Abu to Udaipur (220 Kms):-
After having Breakfast at hotel, checkout form the hotel and further proceed to Udaipur Airport or Railway Station. If time permits you may like to visit Udaipur local market also. In the Afternoon or In the evening we will dropy you to the Airport with sweet memories of the trip.
